Once the tractor has been bought, it must work all through the year to amortize the costs of acquisition. This is based on HAWE Hydraulik's modular construction kit system that allows the easy and straightforward arrangement of controls.

The main components are a control pump or fixed displacement pump, proportional directional spool valves, a programmable logic valve control and hydraulic consumers, such as cylinders. Every hydraulic function is controlled by a section of the proportional directional spool valves housed within the valve bank. HAWE Hydraulik's PSL proportional directional spool valves are particularly suited here, given their sturdy construction and modular set-up, which allows them to be used for various different functions: for actuation of the shield, the cable winch, the props and other elements. If the functions are to serve additional purposes - such as keeping the load safely over an extended period of time or securing against pressure peaks - these requirements can be easily and effortlessly implemented by so-called function modules （flange-on mounted blocks）. These blocks are flange-connected directly to the valve sections. There is no need for extra pipeworks, so that the demand for installation space is limited.

Equipped with solutions from HAWE Hydraulik the manufacturers of forest tractors can provide their customers with vehicles that offer a wide range of applications but do not need to be produced as one-off vehicles. Thus the logging tractor is easily turned into a machine for clearing away snow, mowing or mulching. The subsequent extension of the valve bank with additional functions is also possible and requires little effort.

Another vital advantage for forestry machines is the fact that all pressurized components are made from steel, which makes all of HAWE components sturdy, pressure-resistant and long-lasting. The use of steel furthermore lends them small dimensions so that they can be mounted underneath the machine's bonnet or as close as possible to the hydraulic consumers. The remote control via radio signals offers the field operator the comfort of handling the crane, winch or anything else from outside the driver's cabin.
